We revitalized a dormant and unused outdoor space that abuts the 326-unit affordable residential building in Brooklyn. Based on feedback from the residents, we proposed construction of a sustainable, intergenerational space comprising a new children’s play area, walking paths and loops, seating, lighting, and new gardens. The project provides a safe place for children, seniors, and families to gather. Integrated sustainable measures extend the useful lifespan of the space. The children’s play area, seating, and garden portion of the project has been completed.
